AI health monitoring
Providers are well-versed in monitoring the health and wellness of their patients, but artificial intelligence (AI) health monitoring provides an opportunity to further enhance patient care. AI remote monitoring devices have the ability to collect, measure, and monitor vital signs like blood pressure, heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, and more. These insights are gathered remotely and in real-time, providing a comprehensive view into someone’s health and wellness.
AI has the ability to assess the data it collects to do the following:
Detect issues early. Typically, a patient won’t be seen by a provider for an issue until they start to develop symptoms. AI, however, can detect health problems early on before symptoms ever begin to manifest. It can track subtle changes to vital signs, for example, that are indicative of a greater issue that is developing. By identifying these issues and disease early on, treatment can be more effective.
Tailoring treatment plans. Traditional medicine tends to use a “one size fits all” approach. Because AI can collect and analyze large amounts of patient data at an individual level, providers can offer more personalized recommendations and interventions.
Monitor disease progression. Aside from predicting or detecting disease, AI can also assess how a disease is progressing. Vital signs like respiratory rate, temperature, pulse, and more are predictors of emergency department visits. AI analytics can measure and assess these markers and alert providers of abnormalities.
