Blood pressure measurement using a smartphone camera – development of a medical device for monitoring vital signs using remote photoplethysmography
The project is co-financed by the European Union under the European Funds for a Modern Economy program.As part of the project, research and development (R&D) work will be carried out to develop a certified medical device enabling contactless and remote blood pressure measurement using the camera in mobile devices and artificial intelligence algorithms.
Planned activities include algorithm development, collection and analysis of biosignal data, conducting clinical trials, and the product certification process.The project's results will particularly benefit patients with hypertension, individuals with limited mobility or difficult access to medical care, as well as medical staff and the healthcare system – thanks to the ability to remotely monitor the patient's condition and enable earlier intervention.
The implementation of the project will contribute to improving access to modern diagnostics, increasing patient safety, and supporting the development of telemedicine.
